Bev-Al Communications Becomes M2MEDIA360 Following Acquisitions
San Francisco, CA, November 1 /PRNewswire/ — Following its recent acquisition of multiple business publications and other properties serving the geospatial, horticulture, and fine jewelry markets, Bev-Al Communications, specialists in beverage alcohol business media and information services, has reorganized as a broad-based media company, operating in a number of separate, distinct, and highly vertical niches. To recognize the new thrust of its operations, the company has also changed its name to M2MEDIA360.
All of the acquired properties were formerly owned by Adams Business Media, Palm Springs, CA. In total six magazines, one newsletter, an annual conference, two portal web sites, a custom publishing division, and two directories changed hands. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The geospatial unit includes GeoWorld Magazine, a monthly publication reaching over 25,000 subscribers. The magazine reaches industry executives in all levels of government, including emergency management, as well as public works, utilities, and natural resource management. In addition, the group publishes the GeoReport, a weekly online newsletter, and also puts on the GeoTec Event, an annual Canadian conference for geospatial technology professionals. GeoTec Event 2006 is scheduled to take place June 18-21 in Canada's capital at the Ottawa Congress Center.
The horticulture unit, also formerly known as Green Media, includes four monthly publications. Arbor Age includes features, news and commentary concerning arborist tools and techniques. The publication has 18,500 direct recipients. Landscape & Irrigation with a circulation of over 50,000 landscape and irrigation contractors and other professionals, stresses timely news and product information, as well as feature coverage. Outdoor Power Equipment is written for a 21,000 strong subscriber base of outdoor power equipment retailers, distributors, and wholesalers. Content includes technical pieces as well as general features, news, and product information. SPORTSTURF focuses on in-depth coverage of the sports turf maintenance industry for its more than 25,000 professional readers. SPORTSTURF is the official publication of the Sports Turf Managers Association.
The fine jewelry unit includes the six-time-a-year JQ, The International Jewelry Quorum as well as The Limited Edition publications, a series of custom consumer publications created for individual firms. JQ reaches 20,000 jewelers, designers, and fine jewelry manufacturers worldwide.
As part of M2MEDIA360, the newly acquired operations join the original businesses of the Bev-Al Communications. These include three business to business publications aimed at beverage alcohol industry professionals; seven print handbooks and directories benchmarking annual data on U.S. consumption of wine, beer, and spirits; two web based directories; and a series of custom and off-the-shelf market research reports developed from data gathered by teams of field researchers.
According to M2MEDIA360’s president and chief executive officer Marion Minor, “We welcome these new additions to our operations. The purchases not only double the size of our presence in the business to business arena, they give us the traction we need to provide synergy to the basic operations of both the old and the new businesses and open the doors for us to much greater future growth.
In particular these acquisitions bring with them the invaluable expertise of their professional staffs and managers. We expect that the transference of experience and knowledge between our different niches will itself be a great generator of growth for us over the next several years.”
