Teenage design prodigy, adult entrepreneur extraordinaire, Rina Limor has been designing jewelry for almost as long as she can remember. Her passion for seeking out rare and beautiful gemstones, combined with her uncanny ability to anticipate public taste and set trends, along with an unwavering insistence on quality have catapulted J.R. Gold Designs into the forefront of top jewelry houses. So much so, that many people fondly call the company simply Rina Limor. As she hastily insists, however, J.R. Gold’s success is truly a family affair.

Even its name, J.R. Gold Designs, is derived from the initials of Rina and her children, Jacob (who prefers to be called Rami) and Ronit. Like their mother, these two siblings began working with jewelry at a young age. Over the years, they have developed expertise in all phases of merchandising, production, and design inspiration. Nowhere is this more evident than in the quality and craftsmanship that goes into every piece J.R. Gold Designs produces. In fact, the company’s manufacturing standards are so high that they are considered to be some of the finest in the industry.

Today, son Rami is Executive Vice President and oversees all daily operations of the company. Daughter Ronit works with her mother, helping in the design and coordination of future collections. But it is Rina who is the heart and soul of each new look, which, five years ago, expanded from precious and semi-precious fashion jewelry into an extensive bridal line.

“We have always been known for our innovative and elegant fashion jewelry,” Rina explains. “Over the past five years, our bridal collection, which maintains the same sense of fashion, elegance, and style, has helped us gain an even larger following. It is doing extremely well.”

This hi-fashion, extremely versatile collection is offered in platinum and 18K gold. It includes semi-mounts, matching wedding and eternity bands, diamond hoops, diamond bangle cuff bracelets, pearl earrings, and long necklaces. “However,” Rina goes on to say, “a major draw of the bridal collection is that although we have many, many options to choose from, often with hand-engraved designs, individual settings can be customized even further. The semi-mounts can be customized to accommodate any size or shape of center stone, and, of course, ring size.”

“Many of our clients already know that customer service is important to us. When it comes to our bridal rings, we provide this same type of outstanding service and offer important details such as rendering sketches of their preferred style and sending it to them via email or fax. The sketch comes with detailed information about every aspect of the ring, as well as the price.”

Rina is even prouder of the fact that all of this happens within a day or two of receiving the inquiry, and prior to purchasing. “I have been told that some jewelry companies take weeks to deliver a sketch, and that they charge extra for this service. We, of course, do not.” She attributes the company’s high-degree of customer service, as well as the fact that the collection features the same type of elegant, yet fashionable designs, to its unprecedented success. “We are big enough to serve you, and small enough to know you,” she emphatically states.

With the popularity of colored diamonds and gemstones, many of Rina’s other collections are designed to include these stunning stones. Pieces include jewelry fashioned in 18K gold, pearls, and striking multi-colored collages of precious and semi-precious gems.

The history of J.R. Gold Designs began nearly four decades ago when, as a teenager, a young Rina Uziel came to the United States. She quickly found a part-time job in the jewelry industry. Her remarkable talent for creating new jewelry designs, combined with her passion for superior craftsmanship, set the stage for a new business and career.

It wasn ’t long before she founded her own company, a small manufacturing business where she could produce jewelry. The line started with basics such as charm and bangle bracelets. In 1976, Rina traveled to Italy to explore the fine jewelry market abroad, and to see the latest trends from around the world. With time and experience, her business grew and evolved, as did the level and breadth of her collections. As the company expanded, her client list became more and more exclusive, prompting the launch of the Rina Limor designer line. This exclusive collection is aimed at today’s woman who, as Rina puts it, “desires a look with versatility, style, and elegance.” Her overriding goal is, as always, to achieve a highly fashionable, yet totally individual look for her customers.

Over the last 30 years, Rina ’s fashion-forward designs and outstanding workmanship have become well-known trademarks of the company. “We are also looking into offering more unique, one-of-a-kind styles,” she adds. “Today’s woman is very much an individual, and jewelry, like makeup, is a way of expressing this. Earrings, for instance, complete the look of an outfit. They are basic and add impact to looking put-together. But when they are unique to the woman, they also add a powerful sense of confident individuality and success.” Rina continues by explaining, “Every woman wants to have something that is truly her own, that reflects her unique and individual style.
